I was just wondering how many hunters from ind. and ill. go out west to elk hunt. I go to co. every year.

I'm from IN and I have been out to CO twice in the last 5 years. I would enjoy going every year, but with the price of the tags now and two very young children I'm finding it harder and harder to get away. I have been building up some PP's so I'm due here in the next couple years. I think the next trip out there will be during the muzz season, hopefully I can get away from some of the other hunters this way. We do a strictly DIY hunt, so getting away from others=hiking many miles with all your gear on your back.
