Default Importing meat to the US

I'm starting the planning for an Elk hunt in 2007. So far all states and Canada are in the running as possible locations. Are there any restrictions on bringing elk meat back into the US from Canada? I'd hate to spend the money only to have the meat stopped by customs.

Thanks,
Peter

I didn't check the link that brutal posted but I'm sure it explains the situation. I can tell from my own personal experience that it is not difficult. When entering the US there is a form that you must fill out and the customs officer inspects your meat. The whole process took less than 15 minutes for me. We where in British columbia if that makes any difference.
