Default What did your elk fall to THIS YEAR?

I am just kinda curious. There are all of these questions that come up concerning what weapon to take on a first elk hunt. I thought it would be neat for everyone here to post what the killed there elk with THIS YEAR for the people who will inevitably ask in the weeks to come. I guess as a reference to what is really needed to kill elk, and what may not be entirely necessarry. Provide as many details as you can!!

I will start.

My cow fell to a .50 Cal. Muzzle loader. The load was 80 grains of Pyrodex RS and a 370 grain T/C Maxi Ball. The shot was 90 yards, though I had to shoot her again in the head at point blankbecause the first shot only broke her back, and didn't kill her right away.

I have gotten two cows so far this year - both with a muzzleloader. One was in Colorado - with a 410 grain Hornady Great Plains ahead of a MMP ballistic bridge sub base with 120 grains of 2F Triple 7. The second was in NM with a 250 Shockwave ahead of 130 grains of Pyrodex Pellets. Both were one-shot kills to the lungs - the first at 150 yards and the second at 137 yards. Both elk were on the ground in less than two seconds. Didn't recover either bullet. Have a couple of rifle tags coming up in the near future.

My Elk (my first, a 5x5) fell to my guide's spare gun. Mine was broken. It was a pre 64 model 70 in 280 rem with 150 grain corelokt bullets I thought it was too small a round but he fell dead in 30 steps!
