5 days and counting until I start glassing for my California Bighorn Ram!! I have 30 days in my zone to hunt rams. Also have the solo ram tag let out for the year. The guide in the area also is alotted a tag but his hunt begins 10 days after my start date. Will have a couple good buddies with video cameras and another fellow along to field judge rams for me. He has the British Columbia Slam, all 4 rams made book. His California ram was taken in the same areaI am hunting, back in the late 80's. The ole .338Win. is sighted in and ready to roar once again!!!!
Stoked is an understatement!! It will be the highlight of my season for sure. Theres a high concentration of good rams in the area, and only 30 miles from my house!Odds of ever drawing this tag again is most likely a million to one since they only release one tag per year. I have never hunted sheep, but already have the feeling that if I take a good ram, I may want to pursue the slam.

2 different video cameras are along for the hunt so hopefully it all comes together!... be my luck to spot,stalk, shoot, miss....shoot again...hit him in the same spot.....and watch his arse run over the hill!!! lol

Well, this is it! Im off to the sheep grounds tomorrow to start glassing! Will not be checking in for a few days. Hopefully when I get back I will have some pics and and a ram. Everyone thats headed out have a great,safe hunt! Im looking forward to all the new tall tales the season will bring!! laters!
Good luck man!! Go out and get the big one. Have a great time, be safe, and bring back lots of pics. Just remember to make them tasteful...the memories will be much better that way.
