Sawtooth Elk Hunting

Gettin that itch already, which will make the next several months go by ssssllooowwwwlllyy.

A group of us are going to Unit 34 in the Sawtooths (Idaho) for elk the firrst week of rifle season. My questions are:

What is this terrain like?
Is there good elk density?
Hunting Pressure?

I will help you out,what part of SAWTOOTH don't you understand,that is basicaly the terain.
I have never hunted there just drove by on occasion,there are some Idaho hunters on here lets hope one of them can help you out.

I might be able to help. High elevations, tho the places you'd most likely be hunting aren't that high. Open pine forest, meadows. Elk density used to be good,wolves have taken their share.
