I do not really have any information to pass along. Most "meat buffalo" I have seen advertised for $600 or under. A good friend of mine went out & shot one for the meat. He said there is no challenge in killing one. He said the rancher drove him right up to the buffalo. The rancher pointed out the one he wanted him to shoot. He got out of the truck & shot the buffalo at what he guessed to be 30-yards. He said he felt weird for doing it. He was after meat & it tastes good. So I guess he got what he wanted?

i don't know that i would feel comfortable with the whole drive up to the buffalo thing like wolf killer was talking about. that just isn't for me. it wouldn't feel right to me.

I am looking into this as a meat provision, not at all a hunt. There is a post about "looking for some meat" further down this page or on the next one.

you might look at the custer state park buffalo hunt, i think there is at least a little walking in it. most of these buffalo meat hunts are very easy, but ya get a nice hide, and a whole bunch of the best meat youve ever had

If your not in it for the "hunt" it might be cheaper and easier to just buy some buffalo meat. If you wanted an entire buffalo and all of the meat that comes with it (better have a BIG freezer) then it would be cheaper to go out and kill your own. But if your wanting 50% or less of the buffalo then it might be cheaper just to buy the meat from a buffalo farm. Most places that offer buffalo hunts will also have meat to sell, most of which comes from buffalos that people paid to kill and ended up not wanting/needing all the meat.

Sweetwater Creek Bowhunting Ranch, Decater, Tx.
$800 for 4 day Bowhunt with lodging & guide-cow or bull. A fun time & excellent hosts.
$100 for skinning & they have a butcher shop come pick up the skinned animal for processing.
I took one there a year ago March est at 900#s end of 2nd day. Friends Bowhunted this past March & took on est at 900# & another about 1000#s.
Just a fun getaway but you don't just walk up & pick one out either.
Meat is excellent. Good luck.
