Default RE: 6.55X55 swedish

It is one of the very best of the best rifles for Mule deer. I have taken at least fifty mule deer with mine. It is also one of the only guns I have ever had that has never once required a second shot to put deer down to stay. The 6.5 Swede kills better than its paper ballistics would ever indicate. I think some of the reasons are that its bullets have a very good sectional density and its velocity is high enough for expansion but not high enouigh for over expansion which will decrease penetration. Of course that is considering useing good bullets. The 140 grain Hornady Innerlock has take 99 percent of the game I have taken with mine.

Moose and Black Bear can also be taken easily with the 6.5x55. For close range I would go with the 160 grain Hornady RN for moose and Bear. Any Good 140 grain bullet will also do the job. I love the 6.5x55. Mine is a sporterized Model 38 Mauser.
