Fayetteville is in Lincoln County, which is one of the top ten deer counties, in fact it is #5 in the state. It is very rural there and there should be plenty of deer. Now at that time of year you are at the bitter end of our deer season, so you may be hard pressed to see a big boy, but you can shoot 3 does/day with a type 94 supplement license.
Keep in mind that Fayetteville is right above Alabama and the secondary rut may be going on around New years. I live outside Nashville, about an hour north of there and our rut is around thanksgiving, with the secondary rut around Christmas. That is south so it may be a little later.
Are you from TN?
