I have had a model 74 Sportsman 30.06 since 1985. It has always performed flawlessly for me. Just keep it clean, shoot quality ammo and don' t tighten forearm screw after sighting in. I know others have had problems with 7400' s but I have had no prob' s with mine. Good luck!
