You should clean the skull cap so it has no meat or anything left on it. I also wash any blood off the antlers so they look like they were when the deer was alive.This is not necessary, but you don't want a deer mount with blood all over the antlers.I clean them in soapy water with a sponge, but you can clean them however you want to.
