Default RE: 20 Gauge rifled slug

ORIGINAL: bigcountry

It seems fairly popular now days for people to buy 20ga slug. I myself have not and probably won't. I like the extra energy a 12Ga carries and the bigger hole is nice too. I guess if I worried about recoil, I might consider 20ga.
haha, see what I wrote earlier? some guys just love that extra energy/bigger hole stuff.

IMO both are overkill on a deer. And nowadays both are popular, I thought I did read something on a 3.5" 20ga as well, but geez, I dunno. I shoot 2 3/4" 12ga, I think most of the newer high velocity slugs are 2.75" anyway. so a 3" 20ga I think is fine. but that would be interesting to see a 3.5" 20ga, then its kinda back to a 12ga isnt it? Kinda like the 3.5" isnt that like a 10ga? I wanted a 10ga til i looked at the tables and found that a 12ga basically beats anything a 10ga can do, esp in the 3.5" though cant you get a 3.5" 10ga?
