RE: hunting hogs in the winter
its kind of complicated here in MI, there are very few hogs here, like 50 taken in the last 6 years so there is no season for them and the dnr wants to get rid of them, so the only rule is that you need a valid hunting license for a species in season and a valid weapon for that species, so basically you need to be legally hunting a valid game species when actaully you are hunting hog, so if we hunt at night we will be legally hunting racoon but if we come across a hog we can legally shoot it, and during the day we will use our large caliber rifles for coyote and use them if we see a hog
