I have that gun as well. Mine shoots the 130 grain Federal fusions very well. The 270 is now known for its accuracy in the way the 308 would be but in a good barrel ,which IMO you have, its no slouch either. I did some 500 meter silhouette shooting with the 270 and with the right bullet and a good shooter 500-600 meters should be doable. IMO its the best pure deer rifle ever made. Many don't coach its use for elk and moose but its certainly capable if the hunter is up to the task. Been There Done That.

It made its reputation with the 130 grain bulleet and a good bullet of that weight will handle most all big game hunting. The 130 Barnes TXS should make the old war horse even better.
