I'm chasing them in southwestern Ontario. The deep freeze has pasted. Looks like the big flocks are starting to break up. Seeing a few toms starting to strut.

Spent the day sighting and patterning my new to me 835. Looks like Heavy 13 in combo 5-6-7s 2oz. 3in will be my shell of choice.
Mossberg 835, 24 in barrel, JellyHead .690 choke.
30yds.
151 hits in an 8in circle. 11 in the bullseye.

40 yds.

Others shot.
Heavy 13, #5s, 2 oz, in 3in.
117 hits, 30 yards

Winchester CopperPlated #5s, 1 7/8 oz, in 3in.
100 hits in 8in circle, 30 yards

New Federal 3rd Degree with full choke. 3in.
89 hits in 3in circle, 30 yards

Federal 3rd Degree with Jelly Head choke.
101 hits in 3in circle, 30 yards

And last, and most disappointing of the rounds. The one I thought would be closest to Heavy 13, the one everyone I know is bragging about...
Winchester Longbeards
1 3/4oz #5s, in 3in.
86 hits in 8 in circle, at 30 yards.

I suppose I could be a captain. If no one else wants to take the role.
