Had a nice spot and stalk this morning! I thought my season was done do an opening day incident with coyote chasing off 3 big toms and leaving me with no shot at anything. But I spotted this guy basking in the sun this morning, and was able to get a close shot, I then had to chase him around and put 2 more arrows in him to finish him. It seems that I need some heavier arrows and get a little more penatration. All is well as this is my first turkey, and I am really glad I used my bow to do it. Hes not big, only 14 lbs, 15/16th's on the spurs, but he had a small second beard! Main beard was 8 3/4, the second 2 1/2.

Nope. If this wasnt my first year huntin I would have already tagged out. Way to many missedopportunities. I still have till the end of May. Hopefully i can get another one and get some pics up here of it. Im still waitin on my other ones. no luck as of yet.

Well guys this forum is dead right now but I figured I would check in. Missed a couple times in the past week... one jake and one big strutter. Then yesterday had a nice tom come in but I couldnt get a shot so my dad got him with the gun. Going out again tomorrow hopefully this is the day.
