Thanks guys, I am glad to help out. Talk about a thrill and an amazing hunt.

It is really cool that Frank and I both got our first birds with bows... mine also happened to be my first spring gobbler and my biggest bodied gobbler (my fall gobbler was only 17 lbs but had a 10-3/4" beard and 1" spurs)

Germ and wcl, we are all pulling for you guys, good luck and I am waiting to see the longbeards that you guys arrow!

Very nice Frank and congrats, I am really kicking myself for not getting my second tag. The big gobbler that was on my property behind my house is gone, but the good news is that he was kicked out by a bigger bird. I thought that my bird at nearly 22 pounds was big, but I saw this new bird a few days ago and he makes mine look like a baby I honestly looked out my window and saw it at about 275 yards and my first thought was that it was a bear. I pulled up the binos and sure enough, it was this big guy strutting. From what I could see, he appeared to easily have an 11" beard (probablly longer), and if I had to guess, I would say that he was upwards of 28 pounds. I took my girl out after him and we had a great set-up, but he had about a half dozen hens with him. I managed to bring in one of the hens, but he went the other way with the rest. She can't hunt anymore this year, so I will be taking my best-friend out after him on Monday.

Sorry guys I didn't get my bird but it looks like we are in good shape. I ended up lettin the gf take the shooters seat cuz I figured we had it wrapped up and this was her first year turkey hunting but still no bird. To sum it up in a few words..... coyote at 8 yards behind us, 3 toms came in gobbled on top of us at 20 yards twice and about shook my pants off, jake and hens in the decs, never got a shot at the toms cuz it was too thick watched the toms stutt at 150 yrds for 3 hours, messed up the stalk, next day single tom and jake with hens got em to come to 80 yards but no closer and finished up the season. It was a fun last season and the gf had lots of fun with lots of birds and action so all was good. Can't get em everytime...... Well I'm head to Alaska in the morning to work fishin salmon commercially for the summer so take er easy and congrats to you guys that put this team on top. Take care. WCL

Me too lab, I just did not put the time in. Too busy and I chose the wrong season. With Baseball for my kids my weekends are packed. My 1 free weekend I was sick as a dog[&:] My bad for not taking the early season, I will NEVER take the late season again.
