RE: Official Team 47 Thread
Hello guys. I am checked in. No team captain role for me but we'll have to find one and come up with a name as soon as some more check in.
Looks like everyone's in the Midwest so far. I'll be in central and northern minnesota for most of my hunts. Looking for a doe early in a managed area and then a buck in my core lottery area.
Deerhunter, I posted in your post about a ground blind. A lot of the other posters has good tips too about natural ground blinds with blowdowns and piling brush, etc. But thing they didn't mention was a pit blind, much like you'd dig for goose hunting in fields. This can work equally well for deer hunting and will conceal most of your body movement. Just make sure you have good background cover. For instance, you could dig a pit right along the edge of a field and have corn or brush right behind you. Or you could dig one right in front of a blowdown in the woods and put some cover in front of you or dig a pit into the side of a hill overlooking a deer trail below. Lots of options. Good luck and hope everyone has a great weekend.
