speaking of sand, i dropped by an outdoor archery shooting range on some fish and game property near home and noticed the backstops were wooden boxes with angled sides and full of sand to stop the arrows, man i bet that is hard on points and shafts being that abrasive.

I used to shoot my practice broadheads into a pile of sand. Stops arrows great.

It was probably designed for broadhead tournaments. We had a range with sandbunkers like that in WI.
