Highcountry gets my vote BG, sounds like you landed yourself something that many people are looking for, good luck and let us hear what it looks like after some scouting!!

I was back up in the mountains this weekend, and, well, I finally got a shot opp., unfortunately, I help for about 35 yards, and he must have been about 42 yards or so, although I clipped his chest, I apparently did no harm to him, as five of us couldn't find much more than a drop of blood, and I didn't see any blood on him as he ran off. We really got into some screaming elk Sat. eve. and again Sunday morning. I think the cool snowy weather really got them cranked up, finally. Incredible action. One of the guys finally scored on a young cow, BUT as a group, no one has taken a bull as of yet, which is not do to lack of action. We even had a black powder hunter with us this weekend, and as our season luck has been going, he had a miss fire on a 6x6 at 50 yards. I think old, bad powder was the cause, not sure though. BUT, that's how our elk season has been! One more weekend left!!
I hope my buddy got my trail cam up this weekend on my land in KS., finally.
I agree, no reason for anyone to change the season goals because of this contest. I know I won't!! My personnal goal is 140", or bigger, plus a couple of does. ALthough, I had this same goal last year and settled for a 135" buck!

And here is one alittle more clear.

I really can't wait to get in the woods. I got my High Country Brute Force back from the shop. Finally got the extra stuff I ordered in, and installed. Gave it alittle face lift with the new Muzzy Zero effect rest, and the new s coil stabilizer. I was going to go ahead and get a 5 pin Copper John sight, but I didn't really want to go through all the work of resighting and all this close to season. So I left the 5 pin cobra setup on. Besides this is just a back up bow and I don't see spending a whole lot of time shooting this bow with a new one on the rack next to it.

As for season goals....I always like to take a mature doe first, then watch for a buck. I have taken bucks in early season(first two weeks) before...but I usually like to wait until the last week of October till the first two weeks of November to take one.....that's when the bucks are out and about the most, and that's when I have seen and taken my biggest to date. We can take two bucks, but on most of the places I hunt and have to myself I never release unless it has 4pts or more on one side. When I hit the public land in early season I usually take the first buck that comes through as long as he's not a small spike.

We'll see how the season plays out....if we all have some goodluck it should be a interesting fall/winter on these forums.

Well usually I have the picture saved on my computer. I then click post reply(full reply not the fast reply). Under the box you type in is CLICK HERE TO UPLOAD! You click that and find the picture where you saved it on your computer using browse. Selectthe pic and clickOK.It will take a moment or two and then it will say that it upload correctly. Then if you want the picture to show up onyour post like mine did, then check the EMBEDPICTURE IN POST.

Ifyou can't figure it you could always send the picture to my email and I'll put iton here. But if you follow the steps above it should work out fine.

gytr_660r@yahoo.com just incase you want me to post it....

I tried posting this picture again, the same way, in another forum and it said my file was too large. Any idea why it would work here and not in the big game forum? I even attempted to change the size and that didn't work. Thanks again for the help.

BTW my son was only 2 years old last deer season and he through a fit until mom let him come out and "help". It was pretty cold that day, but he never complained one bit. Hopefully he stays interested and we have many many hunts in our future.

That is a unique deer HighCountry, neat trophy. And BG that isa heavy horned brute for sure. If all of us on the team could tag out with something like that, I think we'd stand a fair chance at the end of season at being on top!!
I usually download my pics. at photobucket, which is a photo hosting web sight, and then I can edit them/change size etc., then I post them here. It is more lengthy, but it works. Not sure why you can get your pic. to show here and not over in the other forum!
I'm headed out after work tomorrow, AGAIN, to go try one last time for an elk. There may be knee high snow by Sunday in our area. Hopefully the snow ends up being about 4-6", I can handle that much better. It's one thing to climb a mountain at 10,000', but if ya add 1' of snow, it becomes a whole new adventure!

I know the size for pic's on this part of the forum is 500kb. Maybe it's set lower on other forums.

And what a great buck.

Goodluck Howler...I haven't done much but hang a stand a moved a camera. I just found out my 35mm moultrie from last christmas is messed up and I'm mailing it in for repair tomorrow. LOL. I think that maybe a adventure in itself.
