Interarms Mark X (.308 Win)

Of all the many rifles made with a Mauser K98 action, the Mark X (imported by Interarms out of Yugoslavia) is one of the most interesting.
Available in almost any caliber, the Mark X (which, unhappily, is no longer manufactured) has a reputation for outstanding reliability and quality—which, unfortunately, is generally reflected in its price.
Here is one, for example, which is for sale at Richard The Gunsmith’s store, with “Mannlicher style and quality” written all over it:

Okay, this one makes me drool. It’s chambered in .308 Win, has a lovely 20” barrel (almost a carbine length, in other words), and has the trademark Mannlicher “butterknife” bolt and full-length stock.
Did you notice the double “set” trigger? (Draw the back trigger to “set” the front, which will then release with only a 12oz. trigger pull.)
Included in the $1,100 price is a Leupold Vari-X III 1.75-6x32 scope (which alone costs well over $400 new).
