I also use the Kolpin gun boot without any problems. I have also seen people use a thick soft (usually floatable...they are thicker) case with a shoulder strap on it. that way if for some reason your rollover the gun will be with you. If you use the gun boot just make sure it is inside the wheels so you don't go knocking it on any trees or such.
