I don't know about you guys, but it is freaking cold here. It was 20 here this morning and they are calling for snow tonight. I guess it is a good thing that our season doesn't start until April 20th.

Southern I hope you knock one down that looks like a drowned rat with those rainy days you are expecting. Good luck and I will be waiting for you to post your picture. Lets hope each team member can put one of the board in order of the start of our seasons. Souther your batting and huntnteen is on deck.....who is in the hole???

I'm not a fan of decoys, and never use them after having 4 or 5 toms hang up and not come into them. But I've wanted to try a strutting decoy, so I made this half strut decoy tonight out of one of my original decoys and a real fan and beard. It was a jake decoy, but I cut the beard off and pinned a real one in it, then gave the whole thing a touch up paint job. I may try him out one day when I take my bow, just to see what happens. I'm not too sure about that bright yeller beak right now though, haha. May have to do somethin about that.

I second the brite beak Southern, lol. Might just as well add some fishing line and make the thing move around a bit too. Video your hunts, that would be cool. Good Luck. Myseason starts April 22nd.

Yeah I'm gonna try and video a few times. I lightened that beak up and worked on the head a little more. Painted the wings a little too, I think it looks really good now. Weather update, we're not expecting rain at all next week now. Just this weekend, so I'll have some nice weather to hunt. Maybe they'll talk to me in the mornings. I'll be leaving on Saturday and I don't have internet at my folks' house, so I'll check back in whenever I get back from spring break, hopefully with a lot of good pictures.
