Thousands of shooters and sportsman from around the world again hit the isles of the ever-expanding SHOT
Show exhibit floor this year. The exhibitors and retailers reaped the benefits of increasing
sales at the industry's largest show and set attendance records for the 2nd straight year.
Last year's unveiling of Mossy Oak’s Brush camouflage got my vote as
the best creation for us Western outfitters in a very long time. This
year my favorite new item unveiled at the show would have to be
Remington’s WINGMASTER HD ammunition. This amazing new product will
replace the well-known Heavy Shot that has quickly become the favorite
of bird hunters everywhere. For those of you who have come to enjoy and
trust Heavy Shot don't panic this new WINGMASTER HD is “DROP-DEAD
BETTER!”
How many of you buy those cheap disposable cameras for
fear of damaging or soaking your good camera in the field, only to return home
from your greatest hunting adventure to find no pictures of your trophy?
The Bushnell digital pocket camera is the answer. This
water tight shock resistant camera is a must-have for the avid outdoors person.
With 3.2 mega pixels, a large viewing screen and compact design it is a great
alternative to that disposable camera. All of the pictures you see here are
taken with this camera. Bushnell seems to understand what a consumer is looking
for in a product and promises great new features in the near
future.
The additional buzz in the Bushnell booth this year was
the acquisition of Michaels of Oregon. This will add some great quality product
lines to the Bushnell family such as Butler Creek and Stoney Point. So when you
Magnify Life with Bushnell in the future you will have the convenience of
product coalition.

Now for the fun stuff!
Good friend, host and producer of Bushnell Outdoors Dave
Watson, was seen on several occasions visiting with guests of the show in the
Bushnell booth. But on Saturday afternoon it was a pleasure to see Dave
getting a moment of casual conversation with friends Jim Shockey and Ted
Nugent. These guys usually don't get the chance to hang around without being
bombarded by those who admire what they do. Even so this amazing group was
gracious to the few who did stop and ask for the occasional autograph or
picture.
Under Armour again threw their bash at the beach and Bob
Walker and Paul Butski with Walkers Game Ear remain my favorite to see the SHOT
